The PMI IMPACT project

  • The ‘PMI IMPACT’ project is a worldwide Philip Morris International initiative to support projects which are aimed at combating illegal trade and related crimes. Our company has successfully participated in the first stage of project selection and was selected out of thirty-one nominated projects from sixteen countries. A standard test container was designed and manufactured during the project’s execution. With the help of this, customs X-ray control system image analysts were trained, with them being responsible for the identification and control of dangerous and smuggled objects.

BORDERLINK project

  • BORDERLINK is a Horizon Europe programme project which has been funded by the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. It aims to strengthen the management of customs and borders processes by implementing innovative forms of technology, creating information databases, and setting standards for improving interaction and mutual relations. Our team within the project is responsible for the creation of two innovative solutions. Standard testing units involve custom-made shipping containers, large vehicles, and vans which all contain hidden dangerous objects. These are used to check the operations of X-ray control systems and to train the operators of such systems. The certified and harmonised training programme for X-ray control system image analysts is suitable for in-person and online training, and includes realistic libraries of X-ray images along with harmonised training and certification processes.
