Opening of mobile X-ray control systems at Panemunes and Kybartu road posts

In the end of 2013 two new X-Ray inspection systems were introduced in Panemune and Kybartai border control posts. During the first month of their operation more than a thousand vehicles were checked and a few kilograms of illegal organic narcotic materials were found together with illegal petrol and 356 734 packages of smuggled tobacco products. It is obvious that a reasonable part of investment of the new equipment has paid off in the first months of its operation.

According to custom’s officers, who are working with these systems, new X-Ray equipment is more reliable and enables to perform cargo inspection more effectively by usage of advanced technologies.

New mobile X-Ray inspection systems were designed, manufactured and assembled by “Nuctech Warsaw Company Limited”. Project was implemented using the funds of Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
